Explosive Garage Punk & Fuzz Rock Duo
The Ghost Wolves are a rock 'n' roll duo from Austin, Texas, known for their explosive live shows, gritty sound, and untamed energy. Formed by Carley and Jonny Wolf, the band channels a raw blend of garage punk, blues, and fuzz-drenched rock, all delivered with an unmistakable Southern bite. Carley Wolf, a multi-instrumentalist raised in the rural dance halls of Texas, brings a fierce stage presence and a signature one-string electric guitar that howls with distortion. Her musical roots run deep — from fronting country and rockabilly acts in her teens to performing with The Crooked Jades and Johnny Falstaff. Jonny Wolf, originally from the East Coast, came up in punk rock basements and later toured as a backing drummer for countless Americana and roots artists. A pivotal studio session with Greg Ginn of Black Flag inspired him to return to the primal power of punk drumming — this time with no compromises.

Wild. Loud. From Texas with Teeth.

The Ghost Wolves have played nearly 700 shows across 25 countries, lighting up stages from Europe to Japan, including a special showcase in Tokyo’s Shibuya district for cult fashion label Hysteric Glamour. Their DIY ethic, relentless touring, and bold aesthetic have earned them a global following and landed their music in major television series and films on Netflix, HBO, and Showtime. In 2017, they were invited to perform at Jack White’s Third Man Records in Nashville. In 2018, they reinvented their sound with an acoustic "GUTBUCKET" tour across the U.S., showcasing their music in a stripped-down, rootsy format while opening for gothic bluesman Lincoln Durham.

Offstage, The Ghost Wolves continue to expand their creative universe. A full line of Ghost Wolves-inspired fashion is available through Hysteric Glamour’s 40+ stores across Asia. Carley starred in the indie film Mr. Roosevelt, produced by Noël Wells and now streaming on Netflix. The band is currently recording their third full-length album with legendary producer Rob Fraboni, whose credits include work with The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and The Band.
Fueled by vintage amps, raw talent, and an unshakable belief that rock isn’t dead — it just needs more bite — The Ghost Wolves are loud, fearless, and impossible to ignore. They don’t follow trends. They make noise, break rules, and leave a trail of sweat and blown-out speakers in their wake.

TEXA$ PLATINUM, the new studio album by Austin's favorite guitar and drum duo, The Ghost Wolves. «A fistful of dark, rustic magic,» Classic Rock Magazine enthuses, «a furious bellow of maximum swamp boogie with blood in its teeth and lust in its heart.»
With song titles like «Whettin My Knife», it is not hard to imagine what this new album may be about. The band is Carley Wolf on guitar and vocals and Jonny Wolf on drums, synthesizer and vocals. They formed in Austin, Texas in 2010. Some of their influences include artists like Hasil Adkins, Joan Jett, R.L. Burnside, The Ramones, The Kills, Ronnie Dawson, Death Grips, Jessie Mae Hemphill. The Joan Jett connection goes further as it was the legendary punk guitar player Cheetah Chrome (of Dead Boys fame) that signed them to their last record deal. His own backing band featured members of the Black Hearts.
It’s no surprise that Carley Wolf's guitar playing gets attention. She has been featured in Premiere Guitar, SheShreds, Guitar Girl Magazine and has performed live on NPR stations like WBEZ in Chicago. "The pair tour relentlessly, showing a joy in the turn-it-up that evokes the visceral virtues of rock at its most raw and elemental." wrote music critic (and Patti Smith Group guitar player) Lenny Kaye for emusic.com. Several tracks from their previous record got prominent TV and film placements including on the hit TV series Shameless; several programs on the Oxygen channel (Bad Girl’s Club, Funny Girls, Best Ink); an over-the-top trailer for Japanese martial arts film called, Why Don't You Play in Hell? Not to mention MTV's Real World: Explosion and for Perry Ellis at Fashion week in New York.
TEXA$ PLATINUM was produced by Mike McCarthy at his private studio in Austin at the end of 2016. McCarthy has produced albums for artists like And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead…, Spoon, OBN III’s. The record was mastered by Howie Weinberg at his Los Angeles facility. Weinberg also mastered Nirvana's Nevermind album, as well as records for the Beastie Boys, The Clash, White Stripes, U2 and many others.
