With their brand-new album TEXA$ PLATINUM, Austin’s wildest duo returns: The Ghost Wolves, made up of Carley Wolf (guitar, vocals) and Jonny Wolf (drums, synthesizer, vocals). Since forming in 2010, the pair have perfected their very own sound between garage punk, blues, rock ’n’ roll, and noise – raw, untamed, and electrifying.
Song titles like “Whettin My Knife” already hint at what this record is about: dangerous nights, gritty stories, and the intoxicating ride along the edge. Their music often starts with a dark, smoldering groove before erupting into a relentless storm of feedback, fuzz, and pounding drums.
Influences from legends like Hasil Adkins, Joan Jett, R.L. Burnside, The Ramones, The Kills, Ronnie Dawson, Death Grips, and Jessie Mae Hemphill are present, but never overshadow the Wolves’ unique spirit. TEXA$ PLATINUMis an album that doesn’t want to be polished – it shines with attitude, bite, and sheer joy of playing.
The Ghost Wolves once again prove they don’t need an arena to set off an explosion – their songs crackle with pure energy, raw spirit, and that unapologetic “don’t give a damn” moxie that only comes from bands who give it all without compromise.
A must-have for fans of garage rock, blues punk, and uncompromising live energy – raw, direct, and dangerously seductive.
